Breakfast at the Museum: Cappuccino Day in San Basilio with Mister Caffè
Sunday 8 November 2026, a morning of flavour, archaeology and technology in the heart of the Po Delta.
Some Sundays start with a cappuccino and end with 2,500 years of history. That is the idea behind Breakfast at the Museum, Veneto Delta Po's Cappuccino Day event: on Sunday 8 November 2026 at 9:30 am, the San Basilio Cultural and Tourist Centre in Ariano nel Polesine opens its doors to adults and children alike.
The morning programme
- Breakfast with cappuccinos by Mister Caffè and treats by Alice – La Gelateria delle Meraviglie
- Guided tour of the museum and archaeological area with Co.Se.Del.Po guides, among the remains of a Roman country villa and the mansio (staging post) on the ancient routes of the Delta
- What's new: the Stele of the Roses, an ancient marble inscription unearthed during excavations, and an immersive room with virtual-reality headsets to relive the site's past
Mister Caffè: the Delta in a cup
Behind the brand is Lorenzo Mischiatti, owner of the So.Ge.Ca. roastery in Taglio di Po and, since 2023, the only Master Craftsman in the Veneto region for coffee roasting.
Its signature blend carries the land in its name: 45° Parallelo recalls the parallel crossing the Po Delta Park and the recipe itself, two coffees at 45% each, slowly roasted by hand. In 2025 it won the Superior Taste Award in Brussels and gold at the World Taste Award in Paris; Gambero Rosso's 2026 guide to Italian coffees and roasters gave it its top "Tre Macinini" rating, together with the Honduras single origin. Mister Caffè is also entitled to use the logo of the Veneto Po Delta Regional Park.
