Venice from the Po Delta: by vaporetto and bike from Chioggia
After a couple of days among the Po Delta's lagoons, embankments and river mouths, many guests spend a day in Venice. The city is about 100 kilometres from Porto Tolle, a little over an hour and a half by car, but the most evocative approach is by sea from Chioggia.
From Porto Tolle to Chioggia
Chioggia is about 40 kilometres from Porto Tolle, less than an hour by car from Albergo Italia. From here, the journey crosses the lagoon islands and turns the trip to Venice into part of the day itself.
ACTV line 11 to the Lido
ACTV line 11 travels by boat from Chioggia to Pellestrina. From there, a bus crosses the island to Santa Maria del Mare, followed by a ferry to Alberoni and another bus to the Lido at S.M.E. Vaporetti connect the Lido with St Mark's Square.

Travelling by bicycle
Bicycles are accepted on the Chioggia–Pellestrina boat after passengers have boarded and at the captain's discretion. A bicycle ticket is required on the Alberoni–Santa Maria del Mare ferry.
Between Pellestrina and the Lido, you can cycle beside the murazzi sea walls and the lagoon, combining the ride with line 11 connections. Cyclists should also check current ACTV timetables and conditions before departure.
Back to the Delta in the evening
Once back in Porto Tolle, end the day with dinner at RistòItalia and a night at Albergo Italia, returning to the quiet of the Delta after Venice.
